Originally, escape rooms were computer and internet puzzle and/or adventure games. Now in these live versions, you can come and immerse yourself in our exciting themes. Race against the clock to investigate clues, solve puzzles, find treasure, and Get Outta Here within an hour!
Getting back to escape room roots in video games, without losing the immersion of live rooms, our partners at vrCAVE have developed some truly amazing experiences! Using Virtual Reality (VR) headsets, you and your team can get whisked away to scenarios that wouldn't be possible in a live escape experience. Check out Our Virtual Rooms page for more info.
Young, old, and in between it's $28.57+GST for everyone. Babies can join for free if they are not mobile (if they are held or in a carrier for the duration of the game).
Yes and no. While we do allow children of any age to join in the adventure, in our live escape rooms, participants 14 and under do require an adult to be in the room with them at all times. Additionally, our rooms are designed to be challenging for adults, so younger children might enjoy the different environments, however they might find the puzzles too challenging. As long as you're ok with that, then all ages are welcome! We won't charge extra for your baby that is in a carrier or held, but if your child can walk, you will need to pay for their admission.
Our virtual rooms use equipment for ages 13+.
Excellent question! We actually don't have the answer for that! Different people love different themes and puzzles and it's actually really hard to make a perfect recommendation. If you're unsure, our best recommendation is try out whichever theme sounds exciting to you!
Another excellent question! While we may have the answer for this, we'd rather you not worry about that and just enjoy yourselves! If you're new to escape rooms and looking to try our easiest one, or veterans looking for a challenge, then feel free to reach out to us at info@getouttahere.ca. But in our experience, everyone is different and what might be hard for others, might be really easy for you. Or what might be easy for most groups, might be really challenging for you...r teammate. Everyone thinks differently and we would rather you just have fun and Get Outta Here without worrying about how you stack up to others.
We don't allow outside food or drinks. If you bring anything in, you will be asked to return it to your car or lock it in your locker. The main reason is, we already do quite a bit between bookings to make sure that the rooms are sanitary for the next group and if we have to mop up a sticky pop spill or chip crumbs, we might run late for the next group.
We have zero tolerance for alcohol at our facility. We are not licensed to have alcohol on site, and any groups that bring alcohol will have to remove it from the property. Groups that bring alcohol to our facility, or are visibly intoxicated may be refused service with no refund.
No, and you can't cut open the couch with your pocketknife either. We don't have time to reupholster between every group, so I promise nothing useful is on the other side of that fabric.
Everything needed to solve the room is provided in the room. We encourage all guests to lock up personal belongings during your experience to avoid the temptation to use them. If your Game Master notices your group trying to use outside tools to solve things, your experience may be ended early with no refund.

Bookings
You don't have to, but we strongly recommend it! We will only be able to accommodate walk ins if we have rooms available. Booking in advance also makes your check-in and payment process much smoother and quicker.
Please note that we will accept cash payments, however, we do not keep cash on site and are unable to provide change.
If you're ever running late, it's a good idea to give us a call and let us know. While we will do everything in our power to accommodate you, our bookings are basically live ticketed events. The show must go on! We may have to reduce your play time or reschedule you to another time or date in order to ensure the groups after you aren't impacted.
You sure can! However we made sure that staff were scheduled, lights were on, and no one else booked that time. We require at least 48 hours notice in order for us to refund your booking. If you cancel late or no show your booking we will be unable to provide you with a refund.
You can certainly try! How easy or doable will depend on the change. If you need to change your participants, pick a different available room or time at least a day in advance of your booking, then you should be able to make changes on your account. If you're having difficulty, or the system isn't allowing you to make the changes you want, feel free to reach out to us and we will do our best to help you out. Some changes like adding more group members beyond the room maximum or trying to book a time someone else has already booked are things we aren't able to do.
No, our room maximums are in place for several reasons. Some of them are boring legal and safety reasons, but some are also to make sure you have as much fun as possible! Please don't bring your extra group members to your booking, as our Game Masters aren't allowed to let more than the room maximum of people in, and that's just a sad time for everyone. If you really want to book something with more people than our room maximums allow, consider booking a couple rooms close together and having a competition! If you need some help coordinating a booking for multiple rooms, we are happy to help! Reach out to info@getouttahere.ca for any assistance.
That depends, how strange are your friends? All of our bookings are private so no one else can book the same time slot as you. So the only strangers would be your invited group members, people in the other rooms. And maybe your Game Master. While very nice, some of us tend to be a little odd.
Absolutely! We don't have a party room and don't allow food or drink, but there are a lot of great restaurants around us! We'd love for you to book a fun birthday adventure for your child and their friends.
Be aware that if the kids are 14 and under, they do require one adult in the room with them for supervision. A responsible adult that helps keep the kiddos on track and prevent breakages can join for free. Please keep in mind that our rooms are designed to be challenging for adults, and kids might find the rooms too hard. However, our friendly Game Masters are always standing by, ready to help!
You sure can! We have packages for groups of up to 17 players at once. We also have a discounted add on for an extra game. You might want this if your team wants to play twice, or if you have more than 17 participants. Pricing depends on when in the week you want to book, so feel free to email us at info@getouttahere.ca for more specific information. Since large group functions may require staff in on times they don't normally work, having additional staff, and/or rearranging the bookings schedule for the day, we require at least 2 weeks notice to book.

Virtual escape experiences
They really are! You are able to see the head and hands of your fellow participants and move around in the same play area. Just do your best to keep your eyes open for your team members to avoid crashing into them.
Nope! Our friendly game masters will help you get set up with the equipment and you will get a short briefing before the game starts.
Well the answer to that is a resounding probably! We do have glasses extenders pre loaded in some of our headsets. If your glasses are wider than the edge of the headset then you may not be able to. If it's a tight fit, it might be a bit uncomfortable. If you need prescription lenses then we do recommend wearing contact lenses, however standard lens frames should be just fine.
